At the Cat Show

Monday, November 23, 2009

I went to a cat show this weekend and this post is the result. This all pretty much provides definitive proof that I am a crazy cat lady, but I'll leave that discussion for another

time!

I had to wear my Chesire Cat hat to this thing even if it was 60 degrees outside.

The Cats

It was so crowded that I didn't have many opportunities to get some clear shows of the exotic cats. There were all these mean old ladies trying to push everyone out of the way. I wanted to
just stomp on them!

First up is this lovely kitten:

I can't for the life of me remember what this breed was called. Something like tyger... She had the softest fur I have ever seen on a cat. It was felt like silk and was literally glowing. Isn't she just gorgeous? *sigh*

Up next is this Bangel boy:

A white Bangel (I forgot the official title):

The Cat Fashion Show

The first event I went to was a fashion show for cats. Some genius decided to put the event in a dark corner where it was very difficult to see the cats, or get good pictures of them. I did manage to snap a few somewhat viewable pics:

Don't tell me you didn't know that santa was a cat! Why do you think you are supposed to put out milk every year? This year make sure to put out a can of tuna as well.

Turkey cat! This was my favorite outfit. I don't agree with eating meat, but I might make any exception for a turkey cat. *nomnom*

A hairless cat in an Egyptian outfit. These hairless cats freak me out. It looks nothing like a cat but it meows and purrs. So weird! Cats are pretty darn ugly without fur.

The Cat Writers Association Book Signing

The last event I went to was book signing. With over 30 cat authors participating it was a lot of fun.

Carol Stevens author of Tails of American Bronte.

Stephanie Piro author of My Cat Loves Me Naked

Rosie Sorenson author of They Had Me At Meow

Carol Frischmann author of Pets and the Planet

And last, but not least Janiss Garza editor of Sparkler the Designer Cat. *squee!* I wasn't expecting to meet anyone at the show that I knew online. I was looking through all the books when I saw the Sparkle Cat book and I was told that she was going to be there signing! I was so excited that I bought a copy to get signed for a blog contest. Unfortunetly, Sparkle was not at the signing herself but I'm thrilled that I got to meet her human!

I had an amazing time at the cat show and I will be going again next year. Check back tomorrow to enter my At The Cat Show Contest!

Cheers and meows, Sharon.
