Maybe you should start with Twilight - you might not make it any further! hehe
The Lightning Thief is actually really good :)

You forgot Fallen by Lauren Kate
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Maggie Stohl (which was actually kinda good if you don't mind that Ethan sounds like a girl and is a Gary Stu.)

umm...Witch and Wizard by James Patterson and the Lauren Conrad books xD

Beautiful Creatures was torturing for me. I still don't understand how it got such great reviews.

    I hated Twilight.
    Shiver was okay
Didn't love City of Bones...I felt it dragged on.
    I really liked Fire though.
Other books on the list I haven't read and probably won't be :)

Actually Shiver is a fast read and not all that painful.

You will never catch me reading Harry Potter.

I have NO idea why you would put yourself through that.

But I must admit that I'm looking forward to the carnage.

(Although, for the record, The Lightning Thief = AWESOME. Really.)

(also: I agree that Beautiful Creatures should be added to that list.)

I love how you do crazy things like this. Though I really did like some of the books you listed like City of Bones. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the reviews on these.

Twilight was okay, but didn't love it. Too much drama. Shiver was supposed to be good, but I dropped it halfway :( Same with The Lightning Thief. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Wicked Lovely were both awesome, though <3 Good luck with your challenge ;)

Out of the ones I've read, Wicked Lovely is my favorite.
Vampire Diaries - Elena is a shallow bitch. Don't give up after the 1st book. The characters progress through the series so give it a chance.
Twilight - Eclipse is funny, if you can make it that far, don't read BD. It was not the best.
Shiver - Has its flaws. But I liked it overall.
City of Bones - Interesting twist. Some of the characters got on my nerves.

I'm curious to see what your opinions are on all of them.

How about... have you read any of these:
A Great and Terrible Beauty (I kinda liked this series until the AWFUL ENDING)
The Luxe (I actually do like these, but they are rather soap opera-y)
The Princess Diaries series (liked this series at first but it went on too long)
House of Night (didn't even try these - yuck)
Maximum Ride series (another I didn't bother with, lol)
Eragon (not awful but couldn't get into it...)
anything by Ellen Hopkins (I do not get why these are so popular - I can't stand to read something SO depressing!)
    Artemis Fowl
    Evermore

Good luck! Twilight may not be the best book, but it is a fast read. I hope you find at least one or two books from this challenge that you somewhat enjoyed. Plus, I hope you do some reviews for these books because I have a feeling they would be hilarious.

I agree with Rebecca that Eragon should be on your list. That's one I will NEVER EVER read.

I've to say that I liked the Twilight series. I also read and enjoyed City of Bones (it has more plot than Twilight).

About the Vampire Diaries I have to admit that was one of the most boring books I've read. I only read the first one and I don't want to try the others ^^

    Good luck with your challenge!

I agree that Evernight and Shiver belong here. They are both, eh, but I didn't see anything to really rave about with either. But since I can enjoy just about any book, I'd still read the sequels if given the chance. Oh, Jessica's Guide was also kinda boring. Plus, it felt like one of those movies where it seemed like it was going to end, and then bam a whole new plot and stuff to work through.

I do say you need to put Need by Carrie Jones on your list if you have not read it already.

Lightning Thief is great. Picked it up the day it came out and have loved the series ever since. The others..

Twilight - I've been trying to finish it for two years.

    Shiver - I'm sorta interested.

Everything else.. not interested at all.

Good luck with this, looking forward to reviews.

LOVE this idea. Shiver was okay for me, as was Wicked Lovely. I liked Fire, though.

Popular titles that would be on my torture list:
    The Princess Diaries
    Eragon
    Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging
    The Thief Lord
    Alanna: The First Adventure
    Artemis Fowl

I have not read any of the books on this list, except for "The Sisterhood Of the Traveling Pants" books, which I loved :) There are a lot on your list that I have waiting to be read though!

    Thanks for the birthday wishes!!

Totally agree with you. It seems like every book I read lately where people are just raving about it I end up hating it. It's happened so many times lately that I had to stop reading YA books for a while

This is pretty funny but actually, a great idea too. I loved some of those, so I'm looking forward to finding out whether you can stomach them.

Oh GOD you picked some horrors, I commend you.

Evernight was one of those books where I wanted to claw my eyes out whilst I was reading it.

Fire - Read about 40 pages and give up, not my kind of thing in the slightest.

Wicked Lovely - So boring, though everyone seems to LOVE this book.

Vampire Diaries - Kill me, kill me now

The Dark Divine - I would not wish this on my worst enemy, honestly, I didn't even bother to finish it

    BUT

City of Bones is the start to an amazing series, her world building is amazing, and her characters undergo some serious development, with some nasty good twists thrown in. I loved this series.

Shiver *sigh* not much plot goes on, but her writing style is so lyrical and beautiful that I feel in love with it despite its many flaws.

    Need, Carries Jones...wah!!! enough said
